I am always excited about Resurrection Week and Sunday (John 20:1-31) just as much as I am about Pentecost Week and Sunday (Acts 2:1-21).  For me personally, as well for some other believers, these important events and/or times of the year bring serious reflections and gratitude for our awesome Father (God, creator of heaven and earth), His Son, (Jesus, our living Savior and Redeemer) and Comforter/Wise Counselor (the Holy Spirit who grants us power against the enemy).  And, although the three are one, we still have to consider the actual breakdown of each one’s role as briefly pointed out above.  Please feel free to study more about each in the Holy Bible.  Jesus is best described as our role model as He walked the earth once upon a time with unshakable faith in His Father.

Questions:  Where is your faith today?  Has life’s situations and consequences or the world’s systems gotten you down?  Please do not be discouraged nor be ready to give up.  Remember, without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).  When others are saying negative things about you, telling you that you can not do something or you are not who you know God told you that you are, just ignore them while consistently lifting your eyes to the hills for your help which comes from the Lord (Psalm 121:1).  The Lord will never leave you nor abandon you (Hebrews 13:5) just lead you, if you allow Him to.  Sometimes flesh (yourself and/or others) can get in the way, but pray for obstacles to be removed so you can hear and do the perfect will of God for your life.

Perhaps you have been going about things the wrong way or just need to step things up.  From time to time, you may have to reinvent yourself.  Change or improve your strategies for better business practices, building personal or business relationships, increasing clientele or whatever your heart desires.  Keep in mind that sometimes you do not even have make major changes or improvements.  Sometimes it is just a matter of being mindful of what is working for others.  Am I saying be a copycat?  No!  Originality is always going to be better…kept in the right perspective, of course.  And, we are all fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).  However, in this case, how God blesses one, He will certainly do for others.  Remember, God wants us to prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospers (III John 1:2).  Again, He does not mean for all of that to happen for just one person.

Now, if total change is necessary (or an overhaul), the Holy Spirit is good about telling us so, if we are willing to listen and be obedient.  And, obedience is better than sacrifice (I Samuel 15:22).  It can only make things better!

Final thoughts:

1) Whether you are just realizing who you are or what you want to do, or reinventing yourself, always seek (and keep) God first in all things and everything you need (and want) will fall into place (Matthew 6:33).  Do not lose focus!  Move forward!

2) And lastly, while you are reinventing yourself and will (which should be in God’s will) by not reinventing the wheel, do not lose your very own saltiness (not bitterness nor cruelty, but unique character) and remain a bright light (Matthew 5:13-14).

Normality vs. Normalcy:  Both of these nouns are derivatives from the adjective “normal”.  And, “normal” means to conform to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.  However, according to some speakers, it has been said that the word “normality” is preferred over “normalcy” simply because it is a neologism which means a newly coined word, usage or expression which can be offensive.  Now that I’ve given that brief grammar lesson that I didn’t plan, I’ll return to what I really wanted to share with you.

I can’t help but to be grateful to God for a true sense of normality.  Please allow me to explain.  I don’t dare take for granted the everyday things that I can actually achieve.  For instance, I’m grateful that I can pay bills, buy food for my family, drive my children to school, put gas in my tank, network with others, conduct business, make decisions, take care of other needs.  And, after all of that is done, I can still enjoy some pleasures in my life.  An even greater blessing is if there’s something too challenging for me, then I know that there’s nothing too hard for God!  O Happy Day!

And the way that I’m seeing it is that normality doesn’t mean mediocrity nor complacency either.  After people have been through so much, when they can still feel peace of mind, joy, freedom and still go on in perseverance, productivity, and purpose…that’s normality to me.  It can even be viewed as greatness in some ways as some people will crack very badly under pressure with some of them recovering and some not.

And lastly, I definitely don’t mean doing business as normal.  As for anybody working and striving to do things with purpose, your faith walk is going to make sure you keep climbing to higher heights.  You couldn’t stop it if you tried!  Your purpose will keep pushing you! Hallelujah!

It is the second day that our eyes have beheld this new year.  Today, I’m thanking, praising and making declarations unto the Lord my God for His mighty words of truth, His goodness and His plans for my life.  I thank God that when I am weak, He is strong.  Therefore, His strength is made perfect in my weakness.  So, I confess that I am strong instead of weak and that the joy of the Lord is my strength.  I thank God that I am blessed in my coming in and blessed in my going out.  I’m blessed in the city and blessed in the country.  I am thankful for being the head and not the tail.  I am thankful that I am above only and never beneath.  I am thankful that my children and their children are blessed and have inheritances.  I am thankful that my siblings and other family members will all be saved, healed and delivered.  Regardless of any lack this, too, shall pass.  I call those things that be not as though they already were.  Therefore, I declare that I am rich and not poor.  I am thankful that what the devil meant for bad, God always turns it around and makes it for my good.  I am thankful for God’s grace, mercy and protection.  Therefore, no weapon formed against me and my loved ones shall prosper.  And, since He gives unto us power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, nothing shall by any means hurt us.  I am thankful that I am in good health instead of being sick.  For God wishes above all things that we may prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospers.  So, I am thankful that I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.  I am thankful that when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.  Therefore, I have asked the Lord of hosts to take back everything that the enemy has stolen from me, and I declare that it will be so!  I will continue to walk by faith and not by sight no matter what is going on in my life knowing that with God, all things are possible!  Glory to God!  I will continue to lift my eyes unto to the hills from whence comes my come help.  My help comes from the Lord which made heaven and earth.  I will also continue to delight myself also in the Lord, and He shall give me the desires of my heart.  I thank God that any doubt and fear is replaced by my faith and belief in the one, true living God who never fails nor lies for His promises are yes and amen!  Therefore, I will have what God says that I can have and that I am all that God says I am.  I declare that I will believe, conceive, receive and achieve it right now!  I will continue to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all of these things will be added unto me.  I am thankful that no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.  Therefore, all of these blessings are mine!  Hallelujah!  And I will continue to bless the Lord at all times, and His praise will continually be in my mouth for He is able and worthy!  God is great and greatly to be praised!  My soul shall make her boast in the Lord!  The humble shall hear thereof and be glad!  My soul loves Jesus!  Bless his holy name!  O magnify the Lord with me!  Let us exalt His name forever and ever!  I make this declaration of thankfulness and praise…in Jesus’ name.  Amen and hallelujah!!!

It’s a new season, a New Year and a new day! Therefore, please don’t worry about past mistakes, possible missed opportunities nor confused signals. And please don’t fret about where you are now, especially if it might not be what you’d expected. Remain joyful anyhow! You’ve gotta love the fact that whether you’re right on track or went to the left (meaning around the way or the long way), God STILL has plans for us, and they are good! He will STILL help us reach our destiny…regardless! Glory to God! He knows what’s best! This year, pray for and receive another level of God’s favor and for His clarity about all things. For it is He who loves, forgives, guides, provides for us and makes any crooked way straight! Hallelujah! Please continue to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33)! Accept God’s perfect will for your life and be immensely blessed this year…and forever more! In Jesus’ name…Amen!

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.  –John 8:32 (NIV)

I know that many will not want to receive this information of truth.  However, like it or not, it is…truth!  I’ve stopped putting up Christmas trees and such when I found out what it all meant at the church that I attend (see below).  It goes against my Christian, biblical beliefs in all ways.  It’s amazing how the enemy schemes to make every good, Godly thing into a work of deception.  It’s also the reason why I do not say “Merry Christmas” any more but rather “Happy Holidays” which covers the year-end celebrations such as Thanksgiving Day and New Year’s Day.  I’ve also informed my children and other family members regarding the truth about Christmas.  I realize that for some, it will be a little harder to accept and stop celebrating than others because it has been the traditional thing to do for so long.  I believe for children, it will be the hardest to accept.  For example, my son knows the truth and believes it to be so.  He doesn’t do the Christmas tree thing either.  However, he still buys a few gifts for his very young, elementary school-age sons in which they opened at my house.  Then, they make rounds at other family members’ homes on his father’s side of the family.  After this year, prayerfully he will inform his sons so that they will understand as well and be able to accept it from the ages that they are.  Please don’t look at it as being harsh.  It’s not impossible, for other religions who believe in other things are able to teach their families, friends and children what they believe.  They stand behind it and practice it.  When it comes to truth, we simply must be about it in all ways, including this!

Below, Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell, who is the Senior Pastor of Windsor Village United Methodist Church (http://www.kingdombuilders.com/) sheds some valuable light on his findings regarding the facts and truth about Christmas.  While Pastor Caldwell has offered this for our knowledge, you do not just have to take his word for it.  Research it for yourself!  There is much, much more information out there regarding the truth about Christmas.  Please read and be freed!
